It's finally here, the Dubpool Bridge.
This afternoon, the famous English architect Matz Sels inaugurated the new bridge linking Dublin and Liverpool. It's a first in history! Never before has such a long bridge been built. After more than eight years of work, this 220 km long monster has entered the annals of history! The record for the longest bridge in the world was once held by the Danyang-Kunshan in China. 164.8 km long, it astonished the whole world when it was built. With an additional 55 km, the Dubpool now holds the record. It is a real pride for its architect : "It is magnificent. When I came up with the incredible idea of creating a bridge between Dublin and Liverpool, everyone thought I was crazy. It took years of work and thousands of people working on it all the time. Thanks to the investors, we were able to raise the 41 billion euro budget. This is a giant budget but necessary that will monetize according to our calculations within 7 years. Thousands of cars will be able to borrow it every day and reach Ireland or the United Kingdom by car in less than three hours! Isn't that fantastic?" Boris Johnson and Michael D. Higgins were present for the inauguration. The bridge is expected to be operational by July. Visitors are impatient and holiday bookings in the Liverpool and Dublin area have quadrupled since the announcement. What is certain is that the bridge will attract tourists from all over the world!
